From March 30 to April 5, 2025, a group of 20 singers from the Rubínek Children’s Choir, accompanied by seven teachers from the Vysoké Mýto Art School, set out on an inspiring Erasmus+ trip to Zagreb, Croatia. The aim of the journey was not only to explore the cultural treasures of the Croatian capital but above all to establish international cooperation with the partner school OGŠ Ivana Zajca.
A Program Full of Experiences
During their stay, the participants visited a number of fascinating places – Zagreb’s historical landmarks, the National Theatre, the interactive Museum of Illusions, the sweet-scented Chocolate Museum, and the prestigious Academy of Music, where they were inspired by a professional musical environment.
The program also included a trip into nature – Plitvice Lakes, one of Croatia’s most beautiful natural sites, provided a perfect balance of rest and discovery. The beauty of nature was further enhanced by a visit to the picturesque village of Rastoke, also known as the "Little Plitvice Lakes."
A special highlight of the trip was a meeting with the Czech Ambassador to Croatia, Mr. Milan Hovorka, who expressed his support for international cultural projects and praised the activities of young artists.
Musical Collaboration
The main focus of the trip was joint rehearsals with students from OGŠ Ivana Zajca. Together, the participants diligently practiced four songs that bridged Czech and Croatian traditions. These musical encounters were not only a valuable artistic experience but also a means of building friendships and fostering international understanding.
Gala Concert – April 2
The highlight of the entire stay was the joint concert held on April 2, 2025. The audience enjoyed performances by the string orchestra, soloists, a standalone performance by the Rubínek choir, and a grand finale featuring the four collaborative pieces – all met with enthusiastic applause.
The trip to Zagreb was an unforgettable experience – not only musically, but also in terms of personal growth and connection. We thank everyone involved in organizing the trip and look forward to future projects that cross borders and languages.
