From July 22 to 27, we attended a week-long course in Dublin as part of the Erasmus+ program. The course focused on modern technologies, applications, and programs that we can use in teaching at elementary art schools. Our instructor was Tomasz Laskowski, who fascinated us each day with new programs and applications. The course was attended by 7 educators, specifically from Germany, Portugal, Greece, and the Czech Republic. This experience brought us many new insights and skills, which we plan to apply in our teaching.
During our week in Dublin, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with various technological tools and programs for artistic education. The course included practical exercises using applications for music creation, graphic design, and animation. We learned how to effectively integrate these tools into our lessons to enrich and diversify our teaching.
We gained an overview of the latest trends in digital art, design, and artificial intelligence. We learned how to create interactive projects that can motivate students and encourage their creativity. Additionally, we acquired skills in using online platforms to share and present our students' work.
Our stay in Dublin provided not only professional development but also the opportunity to explore Irish culture. In our free time, we visited significant cultural sites such as Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, Powerscourt House & Gardens, and many beautiful locations around the city. We also participated in local cultural events, which allowed us to better understand Irish art and traditions. During our teaching, we even delved into Ireland’s national sport, Hurling, which we had the chance to try ourselves.
Participating in the course also meant meeting colleagues from different European countries. This international environment allowed us to exchange experiences and gain new perspectives on using technology in teaching. Discussions with other course participants provided many inspiring ideas and opened doors to potential future collaboration.
The course in Dublin was a great experience that expanded our pedagogical horizons and provided us with new skills for modern teaching. Our experiences demonstrate that even in the field of artistic education, it is crucial to keep up with technological advances and continually develop.
