From the diary of the headmistress – Iva Vrátilová:
First day – February 23, 2020
At the train station in Choceň, we all meet on time… except for my colleague who forgot his documents. He made it onto the train, the worst part is behind us.
We have three minutes to change trains in Česká Třebová, the calmness of my colleagues is surprising… We made it! Maybe now we’re through the worst of it.
We sit at the airport, still with time to spare – the gate opens at 13:15… wait… it’s not opening… it’s closing…
We’re on the plane, although last, but surely now we must have made it through the worst!
It’s almost midnight, we’re checked into the hotel. Only one of my colleagues forgot his phone on the bus… but he’ll figure it out…
If it seems like nothing has gone right from the start, you're right, but don't worry – from Monday morning, when the official art mobility began in Sibiu, everything went smoothly.
The first night with the host families was easily managed by everyone, and our students dived straight into the five-day whirlwind of workshops, landmarks, museums, galleries, and gastronomic experiences.
I was pleasantly surprised and amazed by all the participating students. The atmosphere of the entire mobility was friendly, and the art sessions, which often lasted for hours, revealed the qualities of students of all ages.
The Czech delegation was perfect in every way. Despite the youngest participants, the students managed to paint, draw, talk, create, joke, visit museums and galleries, and share with us the experiences they had during their time in Sibiu, Romania.
