Kicking Off a New Czech–French Project

On April 9–10, we had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest to our school — Sonia Kourim, a teacher from our partner school in the French town of Jargeau. Her visit was not only an inspiring meeting, but also an important step towards establishing a new international mobility within the Erasmus+ programme.

During her two-day stay, she visited all classes at our school and had the opportunity to get to know our colleagues as well as the specifics of Czech basic art education.

Sonia Kourim has a close connection to the Czech Republic. She was born to a Czech father and a French mother, and thanks to this background she speaks Czech fluently. You can listen (in Czech) to her in the latest episode of our podcast Open to Art, Open to Europe, where she shares not only her personal story, but also introduces the planned project Sport & Art, which was another key focus of her visit.

As early as this October, our students will travel to France, while in the spring of next year we will welcome French students to our school. The Sport & Art project will focus on exploring new ways to connect two seemingly different worlds — sport and art.
