The mobility in Bavarian Amberg took place from February 19 to 22, 2017. This time it was attended only by the main coordinators of the Erasmus+ KA2 project from all nine participating countries.
We were warmly welcomed by the German organizer, consisting of teachers and the principal of the Max Reger Music Gymnasium. In addition to the coordination meetings, where we discussed the content and upcoming dates for future mobilities until the project's completion in 2018, we had the opportunity to gain insight into the German education system. Students can begin studying at the gymnasium in the 5th grade, and a significant portion of their education consists of participating in various projects. You can find a variety of subjects ranging from music, dance, visual arts, and drama to a good selection of foreign languages, but overall, the most important subjects are the "classic" secondary school subjects as we know them from the Czech Republic. We were pleasantly surprised that students spend most of their free time engaged in activities under the school's roof, such as various sports activities, charitable projects, excursions, and they also keep bees and produce their own honey.
The school also functions as a boarding school, offering accommodation for students coming from further away. We found out that among them are three Czech students studying in Amberg, and they have really enjoyed it there. We had the opportunity to meet them, and they shared their positive experiences with us.
We returned home not only with many beautiful memories but also with numerous ideas and motivation for further work, which is also one of the main perspectives of the Notes of Europe project.
